Description

UPMC Hanover is currently hiring a Weekend Occupational Therapist. While a weekend position may appeal to many caregivers, it is an ideal fit for individuals who are seeking greater work-life balance.  

Required to work one Saturday and Sunday day shift a month.  Opportunity to work during the weekday as needed.  

Purpose:
As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide an assessment and treatment using advanced clinical skills in a specialty area of occupational therapy for patients referred to non-contracted and contracted facilities of Centers for Rehab Services.

Responsibilities: 

  • Graduate of an accredited program approved by The Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE)
  • Must possess knowledge and skills required to provide quality customer service.
  • Must possess knowledge of normal human growth and development over the lifespan.
  • Must be able to read, understand, analyze, and interpret medical record documents.
  • Must be skilled in planning/organization, follow up/control, delegation, problem-solving, self-development orientation, organizational behaviors/competencies, and stress tolerance.
  • Must possess the ability to apply principles of logic and strategic thinking to a wide range of problems, and to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
  • Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills.Must possess the ability to identify referral growth opportunities.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with the healthcare team, coworkers, supervisors, and all members of the Corporate Management Team.
  • Active participation with health care industry professional organizations is preferred. Must complete all mandatory competencies for system, CRS business unit, and/or facility.
  • Must complete CRS Orientation, Facility-specific Orientation, and Department Specific Orientation(s) where appropriate.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hireThe Graduate Therapist is expected to:* Sit for the licensure exam at the soonest availability, not to exceed six months following onset of employment

Clearances must be dated within 90 days.
 

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Nationall Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
  • Occupational Therapist (OT)
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
