Description

The UPMC Living Donor Champion Program is a support program to assist patients on the liver and kidney transplant waiting list. The Living Donor Champion Ambassador will work with the Clinical Marketing and Transplant Operations teams to implement the components of the UPMC Living Donor Champion Program and will work directly with patients to help identify potential living donors.

This casual role will work a minimum of 10 hours per week and can work up to 20 hours as needed.   The candidate will have the flexibility to work a variety of days, that best meet their schedule.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Represent the UPMC Living-Donor Liver Transplant Program at Champion and living donor donation events at UPMC facilities and in the community.
  • Provide exemplary customer service by being proactive and responsive to all living donor requests. Ability to understand and effectively communicate information regarding living donor transplantation and the UPMC Transplant Program.
  • Track Champion work and report on Champion progress on a monthly basis. Plan and participate in the development of educational materials, including videos and webinars, to provide patients with Champion resources.
  • Document interactions with Champions and patients including the notation of consistent follow-up and Champion support throughout the transplant journey.
  • Support the planning and execution of Champion workshops, including, but not limited to conducting phone calls to encourage attendance prior leading the Champion outreach portion of the workshops.
  • Plan and participate in the development of educational materials, including videos and webinars, to provide patients with Champion resources.
  • Represent the UPMC Living Donor Champion Program at Champion and living donor donation events at UPMC facilities and in the community.
  • Support the planning and execution of Champion workshops, including, but not limited to conducting phone calls to encourage attendance prior leading the social media portion of the workshops.
  • Moderate the Champion support group on the UPMC Living Donor Social Hub on the Facebook by responding to patient questions and planning and developing champion-related content.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's and one year of experience with and/or knowledge of living-donor liver transplant/a living donation program required OR an Associate's with three years of experience with and/or knowledge of living-donor liver transplant/a living donation program required.
  • A background in nursing and/or social work is preferred.
