Under the direction of the President of UPMC Innovative Homecare Solutions (UIHS), responsible for the planning, coordination, implementation, and overall administrative responsibilities of the organization, consistent with the budget and financial requirements. Provides oversight and direction to the IHS directors and administrators. Oversees and manages day to day operations.

UPMC Innovative Home Care Solutions (UIHS) is a not-for-profit company designed to implement innovative post-acute and community-based programs that provide high-value care while improving the patient experience.


  • Directs and provides overall operational management of IHS functions and oversees activities and progress of the IHS management and staff.
  • Leads the establishment and implementation of policies in collaboration with the President, CFO and governance of IHS.
  • Leads the implementation of strategic and plans, as developed by the President, CFO, and governance of IHS, and consistent with the budget defined and approved by the governance.
  • Participates in and supports collaborative Health System initiatives.
  • Facilitates the delivery of efficient, effective care management, and when appropriate, community-based patient care services in collaboration with the integrated delivery model of UPMC Health Systems and UPMC Health Plan
  • Facilitates the development and coordination of integrated clinical operating standards and ensures implementation is consistent with design as approved by governance, including HSD and ISD specifications.
  • Selects and insures appropriate IHS representation of UPMC system clinical initiatives.
  • Implement innovation in technology, including state-of-the-art medical equipment, techniques and services. Optimize use of information technology products and the integration of those products.
  • Responsible for the achievement of cascading goals, department objectives, performance goals and compliance as a member of the senior leadership team.
  • Creates a positive department environment that fosters open communication and teamwork. Enforces and manages a culture of service excellence and personal accountability. Encourages and actively participates in efforts to support a culture of positivity.
  • Continually refine and set targets in strategic plan for clinical operational performance.
  • Provides mentoring and support-coaching, development and overall performance management for the team, ensuring consistency in service delivery by the entire team to drive successful outcomes.
  • Responsible for synthesizing and analyzing data and reporting findings.



  • Master's degree in health profession or health and/or business administration required.
  • Minimum of eight years' experience in health administration; hospital operations experience required.
  • A track record of progressively responsible operational and financial management roles.
  • Proven executive track record in leading health care business unit and client relationships.
  • Competent knowledge and ability in financial analysis, reimbursement practices and contract negotiation skills are essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal communications; verbal and written skills are required.
  • Knowledge of relevant federal and state regulations.

  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance
