Perform rough carpentry such as constructing drywall partitions, ceilings, and door frames from blueprints


  • Perform demolition of walls and spaces as needed to construct new walls and spaces.
  • Complete work orders issued by the supervisor. These items include repair work, troubleshooting problems, minor electrical work, and minor plumbing work.
  • Maintain clean and safe work area, equipment rooms, and shop areas
  • Compile a list of materials needed from blueprints and site visits for material ordering for construction projects.
  • Perform rough carpentry such as constructing drywall partitions, ceilings, and door frames from blueprints.
  • Install tile flooring and wall base.
  • Move residents' furniture and belongings from facility to facility as requested by supervisor.
  • Responsible for setting up the appropriate level of infection control containment (ICRA) based on risk level and maintaining the integrity of that containment; perform work following all infection control procedures.
  • Record personal work orders and submit hours to the supervisor on a daily basis.
  • Perform preventive maintenance work orders from the Corporate Office.
  • Traveling position responsible for the carpentry repairs for Senior Living and BMS facilities in Western PA.
  • Maintain department tools and equipment in good working order.
  • Familiarize self with regulations and codes regarding the facility and notify supervisor of deficiencies.
  • Install lighting and performs related wiring and switching.



  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an industry-recognized three-year apprenticeship program in carpentry or equivalent on-the-job training, plus two additional years of experience as a journeyman carpenter.
  • Must be skilled with the use of all woodworking tools.
  • This training includes such skills as blueprint reading, shop arithmetic, knowledge of the strength of materials and their characteristics.
  • Knowledge of building codes is essential.
  • May in the course of their duties be in rooms where medications are stored.
  • No contact with medications is allowed.
