Description
Purpose:
The Coordinator of Greeter Services is responsible for all activities of the Greeters in the Main Entrance/Lobby. The Coordinator disseminates information and maintains a user-friendly, attractive environment for all patients and visitors.
This position will work from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and every other weekend and holiday. On Call responsibilities on their weekend to work.
Responsibilities:
- Access patient information via the computer to verify admission status, patient room number and pre-registration confirmation.
- Maintains a listing of daily activities/programs and directs people to appropriate location.
- Maintains a brochure rack, magazines and bus schedules, ensuring sufficient supplies and current editions.
- Monitors the Patient Access waiting area for registration, such as checking for physician orders, faxes, and pre-registration status.
- Notifies Patient Access Staff when more than 10 patients are waiting longer than 10 minutes to register. Monitors wheel chair usage.
- Assigns volunteer escort when appropriate.
- Able to physically push patients in wheelchairs to their destinations.
- Greets people with a smile that enter the Main Entrance.
- Addresses everyone professionally (by name when possible) and respects others' privacy.
- Maintains cleanliness and orderliness in the Main Entrance.
- Coordinates activities at the Main Entrance desk and answers incoming calls.
- Maintains alertness and sensitivity to potential problems in area and acts in a timely fashion to resolve said problems.
- Coordinates daily lab/specimen deliveries to Inpatient Lab by volunteers.
- Works well with all departments and offers help without being asked.
- Works effectively with Manager of Valet Services.
- Makes observations and appropriate referrals to Security and Environment of Care.
- Assists with tours for physician recruitment purposes.
- Instructs, directs and monitors volunteers. (Greeter Services)
- Coordinates mail pick up from Medical Staff on Monday and Friday.
- Maintains the schedule for the screening/greeter employees in the Emergency Department
Qualifications
Education and Formal Training Required:
- Must be a High School graduate and have taken a Business Curriculum with computer experience and must have superb customer relation skills.
Experience Required:
- At least one-year experience in a supervisory capacity.Knowledge of the effective functional, organizational and administrative structuring of volunteer services.
- Knowledge of the basic principles of supervision, organization and administration.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Clearances must be dated within 90 days
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
