Description

UPMC Corporate Communications is hiring an Internal Communications Specialist I to join our team!  This role will work daylight business hours Monday through Friday.  The Internal Communications Specialist I will primarily work at the US Steel Tower, but will also support our Urban Hospitals.  Under the general direction of the director, the role will handle various projects to provide communications to internal and external audiences in support of UPMC's mission.  This could include editing, website building, writing, platform management, and much more!

Responsibilities:

 

  • Demonstrate service-oriented behavior in interactions with clients and co-workers.
  • Serve as liaison to internal clients or colleagues for nonclinical programs.
  • Handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize projects appropriately.
  • Continuously refine and maintain the processes used by the department and external vendors, as necessary.
  • Manage communications projects of varying levels of complexity and sophistication as assigned. Complete projects on strategy, on time, and within budget, as applicable.
  • Adhere to all department processes as established for editing content, submitting to publications, supporting intranet governance, and other processes as outlined by department leadership.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, communications, health sciences, or a related field.
  • At least one year experience in a communications position or related field or completion of UPMC Summer Associate program.
  • Must have excellent communication, multitasking, organizational, research/interviewing, writing, grammar, and interpersonal skills.
