Reporting to the Vice President, Workers Compensation, the Sr. Manager is responsiblefor strategically guiding the WC Account Management team, the portfolio of its client relationships and managing the WC Account Management team, establishing goals, expectations and processes for execution. The Sr. Manager will profitably manage a growing client list and identify and cultivate new business opportunities with both existing and new clients.

This person would have a handfull of direct reports immediately upon hire.

  • Passionate about delivering thought leadership, insights and new solutions externally to clients and internally to the Workpartners organization.
  • Manages growing team of account managers and coordinators and sets strategic vision for overall WC account management in collaboration with the VP, WC.
  • Coordinates service to all levels of WC clients including Commercial and Internal/External TPA
  • Coordinates service programs in collaboration with WC Claims management, Underwriting, and Risk Control.
  • Assists in the development of strategic plans for expansion into new states as determined by WC senior leadershipIn collaboration with WC marketing and underwriting, assist in new business pre-sales meetings and renewal meetings.
  • Establish appropriate Goals and Takeaways from meetings and hold appropriate parties accountable to conclusion.
  • Assist WC marketing and Underwriting in marketing the account services to all agency leadership.Establish long-term business relationships at the highest organizational levels within the account to increase sales through value-add business partnership
  • Ensure structured feedback mechanisms are in place to measure success and to achieve customer satisfaction levels of sold and implemented services
  • Sets appropriate expectations with account managers and clients in order to and build and enhance client relationships.
  • Profitably manages a growing annual portfolio of business.Ensures proper execution and delivery on set annual revenue and profitability targets.
  • Establishes and reviews account managers key deliverables to ensure they are on-strategy, meet external client and internal business expectations
  • Strives for flawless execution in data analysis and client reporting ensuring reporting is delivered on time and correct
  • .Lead and manage strategic client planning meetings, contract renewals discussions, monthly and quarterly client reviews and stewardship presentations collaborating and integrating across the Workpartners organization
  • .Develop and implement a long-term account strategy (1-3 year account expansion plan)
  • Collaborate with the project team to identify and analyze risks and determine mitigation plans.Collaborate with sales to develop and implement strategies and programs to increase organic sales growthAssures success measures are clear at the onset of program implementation and measurement of the program are met throughout contract.Drive towards successful completion of the agreed upon project deliverables within scope, on time and on budget while consistently exceeding client expectationsTakes ownership of the facilitation and creation of accurate implementation plans with clearly defined milestones, deliverables and tasks. Works with subject matter experts to determine deliverables and tasks.Collaborate with clients and partner agencies to develop and deliver programs and services that meet or exceed the needs of the client and the end customer.



  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
  • Ten (10) years Account Management experience in the workers compensation industries or insurance-related industry experience is required.
  • Five (5) years of supervision/management experience required or related experience.(Demonstrated Leadership Responsibilities)
  • Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including negotiation skills.
  • Must possess a client-focused attitude with the ability to act as a client advocate when escalating and resolving issues.
  • Must be resourceful, flexible and effective at exchanging ideas and managing the creative ideas of others to improve results.
  • Customer service oriented with the ability to handle emotionally charged situations.
  • Demonstrate time management skills, ability to prioritize and identify critical tasks that deliver highest impact.
  • Must possess excellent analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills; sense of urgency, responsiveness and judgment to make effective decisions is required.
  • Understanding of workers compensation products and program designs is required.
  • Ability to work effectively across a large, highly matrixed and dynamic organization.
  • Excellent planning and project management capabilities.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) skills.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce is helpful.
  • Excellent Interpersonal Skills with all Team members is required with a can-do attitude.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.
