UPMC Community Medicine Incorporated is seeking a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse, OP to support Elizabeth Township Family Medicine - UPMC in Elizabeth, PA!
The LPN will work daylight hours, with start times ranging between 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., Monday through Friday. The later shift (10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.) only occurs approximately one or two times per month on either Wednesdays or Thursdays. There may be a rare Saturday morning shift (8 a.m. to 12 p.m.), with advanced notice, as well.
The Licensed Practice Nurse provides professional nursing care to office patients under the supervision of the practice's providers. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, triaging, rooming patients, documentation and charting, working in the EMR systems, blood draws and injections, and additional patient care responsibilities to support the Family Medicine practice.
The ideal candidate for this position will have phlebotomy and/or injection experience, but training can be provided! Proficient computer skills are also preferred, while a working knowledge of EpicCare and/or other EMR systems is a plus.

Responsibilities:
- Draw blood.
- Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).
- Administer medications, including oral, SQ, IM, and IV drips.
- Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments.
- Assess patient's general condition and take vital signs and weight.
- Comply with all policies and procedures.
- Perform IV therapy under direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.
- Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.
- Promote wellness by providing patient education materials and communicating physician advice/instructions.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing.
- One year of clinical experience preferred.
- Previous experience with phlebotomy and/or injections is a plus.
- Working knowledge of EMR systems preferred.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) OR Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
