Description

Purpose:
Define and develop overall project objectives, scope and work plan and reviews and confirm with the internal client to facilitate business process enhancements. Dynamically lead presentations/work sessions to positively influence decisions and perceptions. Manage in ambiguous situations with minimal direction, and build, direct and maintain motivated and diverse teams.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Cooperate closely with business leaders and/or relevant experts in resolving issues. Identify and mitigate business risks associated with projects. Define alternative/compromise solutions that address others' fundamental concerns and impacts on long-term relationships. Systematically convey pros and cons of alternative solutions to complex, sophisticated, and sensitive issues and achieve consensus on direction/ approach.
  • Analyze the training needs of project teams and identify relevant training material/ courses to address these needs.
  • Recognize and anticipate scope issues and communicate to internal client and team changes to the work plan.
  • Generate new perspectives, frameworks or innovations that enable problem resolution. Generate innovative ideas which are strategically sound and challenge the status quo.
  • Develop physician report cards for pathology and ophthalmology, including:
  1. Data aggregation from various systems – Copath specimens, RVUs, Epic visit data, etc.
  2. Identifying special procedures – Path and Ophth
  3. Report card template – formulas, analysis, preparation, and maintenance
  4. Tracking by individual and division
  5. Divisional per-capita volume tracking – specimens, visits, RVUs, etc.
  6. Setting regular reporting intervals to individuals/divisions
  • Department compensation plan maintenance and updates, including:

  1. MGMA, AAMC (etc.) benchmark updates and maintenance
  2. Pooled divisional RVU tables – develop and maintain by division member, accounting for cross-divisional membersContract management:
  3. Collaboration with faculty member(s) and legal – external/international contracts (Molecular Genomic Testing, Thyroseq, etc)
  4. Template, pricing, development with legal
  5. Tracking of all agreements and pricing
  6. Tracking internal funds arrangements from contract revenue
  7. Pathology Part A contract revisions, updating by physician
  8. Accurate recordkeeping
  • Clinical Trials support for both Ophthalmology and Pathology:

  1. Aggregation of data from OSPARS, UPMC, Pitt
  2. Develop reporting template and analysis
  3. Budgets

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Mathematics, statistics, Health Care, Management, or related field. Master's degree preferred (extensive related experience will be considered).
  • Five (5) years of project management experience.
  • Prior clinical trials experience preferred
  • Ophthalmology operations and/or trials experience preferred
  • Project Management Professional certification preferred.
  • Experience in health care insurance or health care industry preferred. Excellent computer skills required, including Access, Excel, Microsoft Project, and other pertinent computer software packages.
  • Strong management, problem solving, organizational, and communication skills (oral and written) are required.
  • Excellent Project Management skills along with effective planning and organizational skills. Ability to perform planning for large initiatives/projects, managing all tasks required to provide services to meet client and business needs within budget and targeted deadlines.
