Data Entry

Description

Schedule: Monday - Friday

Location: ARHS Billing 

 

The Data Entry role is responsible for operating a keyboard and other data entry devices to enter data into the computer by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Financially balances work at the end of each day. Balances control batches, correct errors.
  • Deletes incorrectly entered data as needed, re-enters correct data, and forwards copy to manager for follow-up with all users involved.
  • Enters payment transactions into computer from encounter forms, insurance EOB's and patients; prepares and forwards refund forms and letters for overpayment on charges/accounts to Accounts Payable.
  • Coordinates claims when multiple insurance companies are involved with payment.
  • Assesses the validity of the information being received before transacted and reports to management any discrepancies or questionable information.
  • Maintenance of Insurance EOB's.
  • Responsible for incoming calls. Assists patient with billing questions/concerns. Transfers calls appropriately.

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • CPT and ICD10 knowledge required.
  • Six months related experience preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Must be able to manually transfer information from hardcopy entering the same into the computer system.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to insurance company representatives, and other employees of the organization.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Act 34
