Temporary Hospital Reimbursement Clerk

Description

Are you an enthusiastic self-starter who is interested in gaining experience in the field of health insurance?  The UPMC Health Plan is looking for you!

UPMC Health Plan's Hospital Reimbursement Department is hiring a temporary full-time clerk to help support the department's administrative functions. The ideal candidate will be organized and deadline-conscious with proficiency in Microsoft Office.  The role is currently fully remote due to COVID with the potential to return to work in the US Steel Tower in the future.  This is a Monday through Friday daylight position.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain neat and organized files and electronic databases
  • Review and match health insurance claims to medical records
  • Download medical records from EPIC and Cerner
  • May entail work with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma strongly preferred
  • Must have proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, Outlook and Powerpoint
  • Must possess typing skills and working knowledge of word processing, electronic mail/calendar and spreadsheets
  • Must possess the ability to learn and effectively use various software programs
