Research Principal Sr

Description

The lab of Dr. Colleen McClung studies the molecular mechanisms that underlie psychiatric disorders. The lab combines molecular, behavioral and electrophysiological techniques and includes both clinical and preclinical studies. The Research Principal Sr will be involved in performing molecular and cellular biological studies as needed for specific projects.  

This position is grant funded.

Responsibilities:

  • Mentor, train, and assist with supervising junior research staff.
  • Provide advanced level research and/or clinical and administrative support for the research study including preparing and presenting presentations, analyzing, and interpreting data, collaborating with principal investigator on manuscripts, scientific articles, and grant submissions.
  • Perform research including design and purification of constructs, cell culture studies, and gene and protein expression studies.  

Qualifications

  • Masters degree required preferably in Psychology, Neuroscience, Counseling, Sociology, or related research field with a minimum of three years of work experience in a research project and/or related clinical setting is required.

OR

  • PHD in Psychology, Neuroscience, Counseling, Sociology, or related research field with a minimum of one year of work experience in a research project and/or related clinical setting is required.
  • Familiarity with computers and common software packages required.
  • Working knowledge of research methodology required.
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.

  • Act 34
