University of Pittsburgh Physcians is currently hiring for a temporary Medical Office Professional! This is at our Orthopedic office in Monroeville, at 600 Oxford Drive.  This is a Monday-Friday, daylight position.  The hours will vary, however not evenings, weekends or holidays are required.

This will be a front and back office position.  The individual will be responsible but not limited to the following:  Rooming patients, preparing injections/exam rooms, assisting physicians with casting, injections, procedures.  Removing sutures and staples, obtain insurance authorizations for diagnostic imaging.  
Extremely busy department with multiple physicians.  Must be reliable and must be able to multi-task.

  • Maintains waiting room and office supplies.
  • Maintains accurate communication including, but not limited to, promptly answering telephones, activating the paging system, facilitating timely faxing, and distributing patient and unit mail
  • Verifies insurance for accuracy and completeness and gets appropriate forms completed and signed by patients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Verify necessary information and records in the electronic medical record and computerized scheduling system.
  • May room patients and prepare charts/medical records for review
  • Greets and assists visitors, physicians and other staff members
  • Schedule appointments, patient registration and place follow-up calls to physicians and/or patients
  • Maintain confidentiality and follow all HIPAA and departmental guidelines



  • High School Diploma Strongly Preferred

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
