Are you a compensation professional searching for a new opportunity?  Or are you a human resources professional with a desire to start a compensation career?  Look no further!  We are hiring a regular, full-time Compensation Analyst to join our UPMC Corporate Compensation Team.

This is a regular, full-time position that primarily works daylight hours, Monday through Friday.  A perk of this position includes some remote work flexibility!

As a Compensation Analyst, you will provide consultative analysis to business units on the administration of compensation and reward practices and procedures.  Additionally, you will learn about market surveys, structure adjustments, and much more.  This is a great opportunity to join a collaborative team that interacts with UPMC departments system-wide.  Apply online today to be considered for the position!

Responsibilities:

 

  • Complete evaluation of new and existing jobs and recommend pay grades.
  • Develop and update standardized job descriptions for benchmark jobs within the System. Maintain standardized job descriptions in PeopleSoft.
  • Develop, modify, and run queries and reports to generate data used for compensation planning and audits using PeopleSoft, Excel, and Access.
  • Serve as a consultant to business unit human resources in regards to compensation-related issues. Communicate to assigned business units in a concise, customer-focused format.
  • Conduct and participate in compensation surveys. Analyze survey data to identify market trends and assure compensation programs are market competitive.
  • Evaluate the exempt status of jobs. Serve as a resource for the interpretation of federal and state laws related to pay programs to ensure compliance. Review and evaluate proposed or new legislation and recommend appropriate solutions for compliance.
  • Collect and evaluate compensation data to assist management and/or business unit human resources with making pay decisions and designing pay programs. Perform related cost projections. Assist with the development, implementation, and evaluation of direct and indirect reward and pay strategies.
  • Complete special projects, such as new business unit integrations, as assigned.
  • Assist with reviewing and updating the Compensation Manual. Ensure business unit human resources have current and accurate compensation information and related policies/procedures. Design and conduct specialized training as appropriate.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field required.
  • Two years human resources experience preferred.
  • OR High School Diploma/GED and two years human resources experience required.
  • Knowledge of compensation analysis and job evaluation required.
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws and rules concerning human resources management required.
  • PC based analytic and quantitative skills required.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret statistical data required.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with business units and other human resources team members required.


Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) preferred.
