Description

UPMC Mercy is hiring a Full-Time Team Leader to support our Food Service Department at our Pittsburgh, PA location!

Schedule: 1:00p.m.-9:30p.m. Every other weekend and every other UPMC recognized holiday!

Purpose:
Support the Food Service Supervisor in all aspects of the daily operation, with emphasis on the training and development of food service associates.

This Team Lead is one of 4 Team Leads in the Patient Services area of the Dietary Department and will report to the Patient Services Dietary Manager. They will help to run the closing shift of the department and manage approximately 15 employees at a time. Closing the department oversees general cleanliness and clean up of all areas to prepare the next shift coming in the following day to be prepared. Must be comfortable with occasional patient service recovery. Mercy obtains food orders and delivers trays to approximately 300 patients every breakfast, lunch and dinner. This Team Lead will oversee the dinner meal period and into the evening to ensure patient satisfaction. 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Supervise hourly associates and their adherence to all UPMC policies and procedures and department standards and guidelines.
  • Oversee security of inventory and cash revenues.
  • Orient, train, and coach new team members as per department guidelines.
  • Monitor all aspects of the department's food safety program routinely and take immediate and appropriate action to identified hazards.
  • Supervise services according to department standards and complete quality control and quality assurance checks to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
  • Perform routine competency checks on associate performance with appropriate follow-through.
  • Conduct and document service recovery on all customer complaints as per operational guidelines.
  • Monitor food quantity and quality to ensure appropriate product is available for meal service according to menu and special requests.
  • Monitor all aspects of the operation's sanitation program on a daily basis to ensure inspection readiness at all times.

 

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma/GED preferred
  • 2 years relevant experience required


Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Obtain Servsafe or Professional Food Safety Manager Certification within 6 months of hire date.
 

  • Food Safety Manager Certification (FSM) OR Servsafe Certified
  • Act 34
