Accountant, Associate - MWRI

Description

UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital is seeking a Full-time Accountant, Associate to support Magee-Womens Research Institute!

This position will work Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Hours are subject to change based on business needs.

The Magee-Womens Research Institute and Foundation (MWRIF) Office of Grants and Contracts provide Pre- and Post- award support for internally and externally funded research projects.  Primary duties of the department include proposal submission guidance, financial & contract compliance/monitoring, and interacting with researchers to facilitate financial and non-financial transactions in support of research.

The Accounting Associate (AA) is responsible for the processing of accounts payables and purchase requisitions and generation of invoices to sponsors and monitoring accounts receivable.  The AA will play a key role in month-end closing duties including, core charge allocations and payroll audits.  The AA will work closely with a team of Business Analysts that will provide education & mentoring in grants management. The Accountant will assist in the day-to-day maintenance of a complete and accurate general ledger and in preparing basic financial reports under direct supervision.


Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and post-basic monthly journal entries.
  • Assist in information gathering for various required management reports.
  • Prepare general ledger account reconciliations for designated accounts.
  • Propose correcting entries.
  • Assist in administrative tasks or special projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related business field required.
  • Minimum of six months of related work experience preferred.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Act 34
