Description

This position will assist the Medical Group President, VPs, Directors, and Managers with calculating Physician and mid-level provider compensation for the UPMC Pinnacle system.  The position will also provide support to the VP-Finance of the UPMC Pinnacle Physician Network for the annual budgeting of this compensation as well as create, utilize and manage EPIC revenue cycle reporting to support all team initiatives. 

The right candidate for this job will possess the following skills or experience: have strong excel and auditing skills, be detail oriented, possess integrity, have good time-management skills to meet payroll deadlines all while communicating effectively with providers and team members.

Bachelor’s degree in Business, finance or related field preferred an Accounting degree is not required for this position.


Responsibilities:
 

  • Create and maintain accurate physician compensation financial calculations for physicians and mid-level providers assigned using Excel and other reporting tools required by reviewing and interpreting physician employment agreements
  • Create, maintain and audit EPIC reports to support compensation plans
  • Calculate and/or audit physician performance relative to defined objectives and benchmarks, productivity and incentive bonuses per individual contracts
  • Respond directly to physician inquiries and requests in a timely and professional manner, exercising discretion and good judgement regarding paycheck, benefit and incentive payment inquiries
  • Gather internal/survey data to analyze information needed for management and external vendors to determine FMV (fair market value) for provider compensation contracting and development of new models while meeting regulatory and legislative changes to existing and prospective compensation arrangements
  • Designs, develops, and implements systems and/or procedures to improve accuracy and efficiency of existing workflows
  • Maintains physician compensation, FTE, and other contract details in an excel database for implementation of pay practices for the Medical Group providers
  • Assist in information gathering for various management reports and understand how to interpret departmental financial statements
  • Prepare physician incentive accruals for monthly journal entries for the Finance department
  • Coordinate administrative tasks, create procedures, work on special projects and training programs as assigned

 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related business field required.
  • Minimum of six months of related work experience preferred.


Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
All clearances must be dated within 90 days of hire

  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
