Our UPMC Corporate Human Resources Team is hiring a Lead HR Operations Consultant!  This is a regular, full-time position that primarily works daylight hours, Monday through Friday, with some remote work flexibility.

The Lead HR Operations Consultant works alongside the human resources leadership team in support of knowledge, analytics, and project leadership to develop and execute processes, programs, and solutions to achieve successful business outcomes. The lead plays a pivotal role in the analysis, design, and implementation of various operational metrics as well as supports talent development programs across the business unit.  They are responsible for HR reporting, project management work within committees, and managing all special projects as needed by the UPMC Corporate Human Resources leadership team.

  • Partner with HR team members to provide project management, analytical, and content expertise support on operational activities and system-wide initiatives. Responsible for ensuring consistent communication and processes in order to achieve efficiencies.
  • Work with Human Resources team on a variety of operational project initiatives, including documentation of new processes and procedures and refinement of existing processes and procedures.
  • Develop, prepare, and send all communications on behalf of division's HR team and serve as the point of contact and representative when needed.
  • Represent division on project teams. Collaborate with HR team members on all project initiatives taking into account the needs of each areas customer groups and adjusting approach as needed to accommodate.
  • Work to develop key metrics for analysis and standard reporting strategies throughout the division; includes heavy use of PeopleSoft queries, Cognos, and Excel to develop analytical reports for use in strategic planning and decision making.
  • Develop and carry-out division wide initiatives focusing on employee engagement and the UPMC Experience. Serve as main point of contact for all engagement events and activities by leading project teams.
  • Complete any other special projects as assigned by the Vice President of Human Resources.
  • Establish collaborative working relationships with UPMC executive management and HR partners to identify needs and design plans to address needs as a thought leader.
  • Remain current on Human Resources best practices through training and benchmarking activities.
  • Act as strategic partner to develop, maintain, support, and report on goals and accomplishments.



  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field required and four years of progressive Human Resources experience with a heavy emphasis on Human Resources operations, performance and talent management programs required.
    • OR High School Diploma/GED and six years of progressive Human Resources experience with a heavy emphasis on Human Resources operations, performance and talent management programs required. 
  • Excellent organization and time management skills with proven ability to take initiative and work independently while also providing support to internal colleagues required.
  • Innovative and flexible approach to problem solving with a focus on continuous improvement and best practices with he ability to influence and promote new ideas required.
  • Highly proficient with all Microsoft Office applications with significant Excel and PowerPoint experience is required; experience with Microsoft SharePoint preferred
