Description

Purpose:
The Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine is seeking a self-starting Project Analyst for innovative health care programs. This is a unique opportunity for candidates who are enthusiastic about using their project management & analytical skills to make a difference in the world of health care.

The Project Analyst supports the Project Director in activities associated with their day-to-day responsibilities, operational improvement initiatives, and special projects. The Project Analyst is responsible for overseeing multiple projects at any given time. Will use knowledge and understanding of UPMC internal processes and information systems to recommend and implement with project plan. This position also is responsible for reporting on key milestones and results to Management as requested

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Management in defining and documenting tasks and duties within department.
  • Communicate with members of UPMC management and staff regarding assigned projects
  • Assist in the development of business cases, work plans, communications, etc.
  • Maintain project documents within approved archival systems.
  • Generate necessary project documentation, including meeting minutes, project deliverables, etc.
  • Handle project administrative duties including scheduling requirements, SharePoint requirements, etc.
  • Advise supervising Project Director and others of pending due dates.
  • Identify and help resolve potential issues and/or barriers which are critical to the success of a project

Qualifications

  • Educational/Knowledge Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years' experience or High School degree plus 5 years of experience. Excellent knowledge of spreadsheet and database software.
  • Must be highly organized and deadline conscious. Project Management knowledge and ability to manage multiple, complex, large-scale projects.
  • Additional Qualities desired: Minimum of four years of experience in operations. Experience in health care insurance or health care industry preferred. Excellent computer skills required, including Access, Excel, Microsoft Project, and other pertinent computer software packages. Strong management, problem solving, organizational, and communication skills (oral and written). This position requires effective planning and organizational skills. This person must have the ability to perform planning for large initiatives/projects, managing all tasks required to providing services to meet client and business needs within budget and targeted deadlines.
