Research Specialist | Affective Neuroscience and Developmental Psychopathology Lab

Description

The Affective Neuroscience and Developmental Psychopathology Lab is a dynamic, busy clinical neuroscience setting in which research focuses on the role of the brain's reward and emotion circuitry in depression and related mental health problems during adolescence and early adulthood. Our research team is motivated, organized, and committed to doing meaningful research to reduce suffering and enhance healthy functioning. This is an ideal work environment for someone who loves to learn, enjoys solving problems, cares about understanding psychopathology, likes variety, and thrives as part of a team. The Research Specialist will be recruiting and assessing participants who have depression and related problems. This will include considerable participant contact, clinical interviewing, MRI scanning, documentation of and assessment of mood, sleep, and experiences in longitudinal designs (6-month to 2-year total protocol times).

This position is grant funded.

Responsibilities:

  • Independently execute job functions for research protocol(s) including recruitment, scheduling appointments, obtaining written consent forms, collecting data by conducting phone or face to face interviews for research project(s).
  • Collaborate with senior research personnel regarding recruitment, data collection, outcomes of interviews, reports according to the needs of the study.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Psychology, Neuroscience, Sociology or related research field.
  • Minimum of one year of work experience in a research project and/or related clinical setting is required.
  • Familiarity with computers and common software packages required.
  • Working knowledge of research methodology strongly preferred.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCMC)
  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
