Description

Purpose:
The Receptionist/Clerk provides receptionist, switchboard and general clerical support duties in accordance with internal established policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Escort wheelchair and ambulatory residents to/from various areas of the facility as requested.
  • Accepts receipt of payments for residents' room and board, dietary, nursing and beauty shop reimbursements and verifies vending money totals.
  • Answer telephone calls and handles routine inquiries; direct calls to appropriate individuals.
  • Maintain logs for facility, employee call offs, vendors and off duty employees entering the facility.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties including maintaining facility scrapbook, maintaining petty cash box and selling stamps and hearing aid batteries to residents.
  • Perform office duties including typing letters and other documents, data entry, printing labels, forms and reports for various departments as needed.
  • Maintains and balances resident petty cash accounts. Reconciles petty cash box twice weekly and submits check requests for replenishment when needed.
  • Follow the chain of command guidelines for inter-facility problem solving.
  • Exhibit a spirit of flexibility and cooperation and has a pleasant, friendly and compassionate personality treating both residents and coworkers with dignity and respect; represents the facility in a professional manner.
  • Enters nursing schedules into Kronos payroll system.
  • Processes time and attendance for nursing staff on Kronos, verifying required pay documentation and enters corrections when necessary.
  • Greet visitors entering facility and provides directions to specific areas.
  • Accept responsibility and accountability for all assignments.
  • Assist departments with special mailings, lists or other projects as requested.
  • Know his/her role in disaster and fire plan.
  • Prepare schedules for nursing staff and administration.
  • Maintain confidentiality in regards to resident information and records.

 

Qualifications

Must possess High School diploma or equivalent. Some clerical and switchboard training preferred. Must possess a valid Pennsylvania Driver's License and willingness to travel as needed. Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
