Research Principal Sr (Phillips Mood and Brain Lab)

Description

The Phillips Mood and Brain Lab at Western Psychiatric Hospital (WPH) Department of Psychiatry, led by Mary L. Phillips, M.D., is comprised of a talented group of psychiatry faculty, postdoctoral associates, students, and staff, all dedicated to better understanding the neural circuitry underlying mood and anxiety disorders using multimodal imaging techniques. The Research Principal Sr will provide day to day coordination of subject recruitment, subject retention and clinical assessments including longitudinal follow-up for a Merit award research study identifying biomarkers for Bipolar Spectrum Disorders and Bipolar risk.

This position is grant funded.

Responsibilities:

  • Mentor, train, and assist with supervising junior research staff.
  • Provide advanced level research and/or clinical and administrative support for the research study including preparing and presenting presentations, analyzing and interpreting data, collaborating with principal investigator on manuscripts, scientific articles, and grant submissions.

Qualifications

  • Masters degree required preferably in Psychology, Neuroscience, Counseling, Sociology, or related research field with a minimum of three years of work experience in a research project and/or related clinical setting is required

OR

  • PHD in Psychology, Neuroscience, Counseling, Sociology, or related research field with a minimum of one year of work experience in a research project and/or related clinical setting is required.
  • Familiarity with computers and common software packages required.
  • Working knowledge of research methodology required.
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience with structured diagnostic interviews such as the SCID5 preferred.
  • Expertise with DSM-5 preferred.
  • Experience coordinating human subjects research studies.

 

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCMC)
  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
