We are looking for a person who shares this passion as well to join our team as an On-Call Courier based at UPMC Somerset Hospital. Hours of operation are 7am-11pm, seven days a week.

As the Courier, the main responsibilities include picking up and transporting orders, medical records, reports, specimens, blood, and supplies to outside testing sites or vendors according to an established priority. Couriers at UPMC receive mileage rates for personal vehicle usage.

  • Transports STAT/priority laboratory specimens (Local Nursing Homes) to outside testing sites and picks up blood at American Red Cross, Johnstown, PA as needed.
  • Responds to calls for delivery and/or pickups of emergency supplies. Responsible for lifting up to 50 lbs. independently.
  • Adheres to state vehicle regulations when responding to calls.
  • Participates in establishing and/or meeting departmental and professional goals.
  • Adheres to departmental and hospital safety policies.


  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current and valid driver's license required.
