Description

UPMC Chartwell in Altoona is looking for a Sr, Patient Delivery Rep to join their growing team.

Coordinate and deliver products in an accurate, courteous, and timely manner. Assist the pharmacist in the performance of technical and clerical duties such as packing order for deliveries and forwarding batch record/pick slip to proper staging area. Assist Distribution Manager and Lead Dispatcher in both infusion and specialty pharmacy staging areas, when directed perform both shipper, dispatcher? and patient delivery representative responsibilities as needed. May be asked to perform these same functions at the other Chartwell branch locations as needed.

This role will work between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Responsibilities:

  • Pack customers' orders according to cold chain pack out and protection of product.
  • Cooperate and coordinate with other staff to ensure efficient deliveries.
  • Maintain assigned vehicle in a clean and orderly condition; inform Distribution manager of mechanical problems. Ensures all drivers maintain neat and clean vehicle both inside and out.
  • Work effectively and maintain productivity, in given responsibilities as needed daily.
  • Obtain patients signature on specific forms.
  • Promote UPMC culture by providing quality, comprehensive services to all customers through a team approach.
  • Pick up excess supplies and/or equipment when patient is off service. Process returned supplies and/or equipment according to policy.
  • Document directions to patients home and files accordingly.
  • Perform various duties, such as shipping, receiving, and general warehouse cleaning. Maintain accurate and complete records in compliance with State, local, and Federal laws and/or regulations (including FDA, DOT, OSHA, etc.).
  • Organize and file pharmacy documentation as required.
  • Accept assignments willingly.
  • Handle customer complaints in a fair and empathetic manner.
  • Deliver pharmaceuticals, supplies, and equipment in timely, safe and accountable manner.
  • Complete daily log in a timely/accurate manner.
  • Discuss drivers meeting agenda with Distribution manager and lead dispatcher, also assist with annually driver competencies as directed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  • Assist in preparing packing lists/delivery tickets.
  • Assist in preparing orders for delivery.
  • Observe all company safety rules and regulations.
  • Meet expectations for customer satisfaction and anticipates customer needs.
  • Cooperate with other staff members when planning and organizing operations services.
  • Ensure that completed packing list/delivery tickets are forwarded to reimbursement.

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years driving
  • Minimum 3 years of shipping/dispatching in Pharmacy related field
  • Must have the following:
  • Exceptional customer service skills with both internal and external customers
  • Must have good decision making skills under stress
  • Must be able to work the minimal supervision
  • Minimum 5 years as Patient Delivery Representative
  • Must be familiar with Medical supplies we deliver
  • Must be familiar with parking locations at all local UPMC hospitals
  • Experience shipping united parcel service through world ship
  • Must be able to Mentor less seasoned team members
  • Must have exceptional safe driving record

  • Automotive Insurance
  • Driver's License
  • Act 34
