MRI Technologist Advanced

Description

UPMC is hiring a full-time Advanced MRI Technologist to join the imaging team!  This position will be part of our MRI float team and will provide coverage as needed to UPMC urban hospitals, which include: Presbyterian, Shadyside, Mercy, Magee, and Children's hospitals. The shifts will be days and evenings, and will include weekend responsibilities.

Sign-On Bonus Details:

$10,000 for a 2 year commitment

Purpose:
Performs imaging procedures at an advanced level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of advanced technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative for diagnostic purposes.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs or assists Clinical Specialist in performing QA, regulatory testing, and other technical and research initiatives.
  • Demonstrates complete operation of specialty equipment, analyzes data promptly, and completes quality control activities.
  • Assists with the training of staff and students.
  • Demonstrates the ability to function independently, and is able to cover off shifts, on-call responsibilities, and perform services at satellite facilities, where applicable, while continually communicating with lead and management team.
  • Performs all job responsibilities of Level I MRI Technologist including practices and maintains MR safety in the department, addresses patient safety through proper patient identification, labeling/preparation/and administration of contrast and communicating according to standard operating procedures completes procedures according to protocol while presenting relevant information to physician, and updates and documents patient information into rad assessment.
  • Promptly responds to medical editing requests.
  • Works directly with Radiologists regarding protocol development.
  • Participates in standardization activities with system-level workgroups.

 

Qualifications

  • Completion of formal training in MRI-related program accredited by the ARRT
  • 2 years MRI experience required.


Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • ARRT MR Certified
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
  • ARRT Certificate
  • Act 34
