Are you a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) looking for a better work/life balance? UPMC's Spring Road family care in Carlisle needs an LPN to join their team. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides professional nursing care to office patients under supervision of patient care providers. Spring Road has 3 providers and they are growing with a 4th provider pending.
Hours: Later morning start (i.e. 9am or 10am) until close each day. Mon-Thurs 6pm, Friday 5pm. No weekends, No holidays, No on-call.
Responsibilities:
- Rooming patients, obtain weight and vital signs, assess patient & condition
- Medication refills and procedure preauthorization
- Give injections and vaccines
- Assist RN with Medicare wellness visits
- Complete physicals
- Perform POCT
- Restock supplies
- Administer medications including oral, SQ, and IM.
- Ability to draw blood is helpful but not required.
- Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments.
- Comply with all policies and procedures.
- Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing.
- One year clinical experience preferred.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
Clearances must be dated within 90 days
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) OR Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
