Do you have a strong compliance background and are looking for the next step in your career?  Look no further!  UPMC Corporate Services is hiring an Auditor/Analyst, Compliance.

As the Auditor/Analyst, Compliance, you will work under the direction of the Compliance & Privacy Officer and/or the Manager of Compliance, the Auditor/Analyst is primarily responsible for creating thorough and correct audit sample spreadsheets and acquiring copies of all medical record documentation for specific dates of service as detailed in the audit sample list. The Auditor/Analyst will provide operational support for UPMC's Corporate Compliance Program.

This includes having Employee Resource Groups, such as Women Inspiring Talent in Heath Care in Finance (WITH) or PRIDE Health, that support the implementation of our diversity strategy. 



  • Responsible for assisting in the completion of special projects, which may include audit spreadsheet development, as necessary.
  • Maintain knowledge and comprehensive understanding of auditing principles, processes, and methodologies
  • Provides support on system policies and procedures, regulations, and accreditation guidelines for assigned reviews.
  • Report status of all assignments and pertinent information to the Compliance and Privacy Officer and/or the Compliance Manager.
  • Manage electronic and paper files.
  • Attend training, seminars and workshops as deemed necessary.
  • Assist supervisor and or audit staff with presentations.
  • Develops review schedule and spreadsheets.
  • Participate in the design and development of new dashboards, reports, and ad-hoc report requests
  • Assembles medical and financial chart data for assigned reviews.



  • Associates Degree or comparable technical school diploma is required.
  • Minimum of three years experience in a health related field or a minimum of three years experience in physician practice billing or coding required. Background in medical record systems access and navigation, medical terminology and general ICD/CPT coding knowledge required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Must have knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and local third party carrier regulations. Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, with people both internally and externally.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
National certification in procedural coding (CPC) or its equivalent is desired.
