Description

UPMC Health Plan is hiring a full-time Manager, Marketing to support the Marketing Communications Department in its downtown Pittsburgh location at the US Steel Tower. This is a Monday through Friday daylight position with a flexible work arrangement.

The Manager, Marketing is responsible for the management and execution of UPMC Health Plan’s sales support team. This includes marketing material, presentations, and a heavy focus on open enrollment materials.  This is role requires the ability to direct project timelines while coordinating with multiple stakeholders.  The ideal candidate will have prior marketing campaign management experience in the health insurance or healthcare industries. 

This position is responsible for developing and supporting the overarching strategy for commercial group marketing. This will entail oversite of all channels and tactics necessary to support new product launches, existing maintenance of marketing materials, and the open annual open enrollment campaign.  The Manager, Marketing will be responsible for providing leadership and oversight of the LOB/Function Marketing area and staff within the UPMC Health Plan's marketing department.


Responsibilities:

  • Monitor spend related to marketing strategies to ensure budget compliance.
  • Manage, educate, train, and career development of direct reports.
  • Evaluate staffing requirements and compensation levels to ensure effective use of resources.
  • Developing/maintaining department policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring proper resources are available (i.e. hiring, training and managing)
  • Competitor tracking.
  • Participate in the development of the Sales and Marketing strategy as it pertains to market growth, retention, or member engagement.
  • Market analysis, including market performance and identification of trends.
  • Facilitate and provide leadership in team meetings, providing ideas and suggestions to ensure goals and deadlines are met.
  • Develop and manage effective relationships with functional and/or line of business partners, inter-departmental functions, and vendor relationships.
  • Participate in the identification of new products that satisfy market requirements.
  • Develop marketing content and material to support member, acquisition, conversion, engagement, and retention efforts
  • Support marketing activities with various constituents, including network providers, external brokers, and community events.
  • Ensure compliance with CMS and state regulatory requirements, as required. Develop a tracking process of internal and external approvals consistent with audit requirements.
  • Analysis and reporting of key performance indicators to evaluate campaign success
  • Participate in the development of marketing strategies and campaigns for open enrollment and measure effectiveness. Lead the launch of these campaigns.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required, MBA preferred.
  • 6 years experience with health care/insurance products inclusive of marketing campaign development, Marketing materials development, and lead management expertise over a broad scope of media types.
  • 2-5 years of marketing management experience.
  • Ability to interpret CMS marketing instructions when needed, marketing reports and analyses to take appropriate actions and make problem-solving decisions pertaining to marketing.
  • Demonstrated success in managing a business unit and client relationships.
  • Demonstrated success of the implementation of marketing projects.
  • Significant database reporting and analysis experience preferred.
  • Ability to propose and implement creative solutions and analytical approaches to problem situations.
  • Will need to manage multiple tasks and projects and forge key relationships with internal departments and external vendors.
  • Attention to detail is critical to the success of this position, along with the ability to deal with ambiguity.
  • Ability to interpret and summarize results of various analyses in a timely and meaningful way.
  • Ability to re-engineer processes to positively impact productivity in terms of timeliness and accuracy.
  • State life, accident and health license preferred.
