Across UPMC, our guiding principle is to always prioritize the safety of our employees, patients, and members. UPMC believes that vaccination is important, helps protect all, and advocates that everyone who can be vaccinated should be vaccinated.

UPMC complies with all governmental requirements related to local, state, and federal COVID-19 vaccination for employment. The Jan. 13 Supreme Court of the United States decision that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services federal COVID-19 vaccine mandate will move forward requires UPMC to ensure employees either get vaccinated or receive a requested medical or religious exemption.

What is the Graduate Nurse Rotational Program (GNRP)? 

UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital is pleased to announce we are NOW HIRING Graduate Nurses as full-time Staff Nurses to support various hospital units as part of a special Rotational Program. Within the Surgical Services Track, you will have the opportunity to rotate between our Operating Room (OR) and Pre/Port Op departments for about 4 weeks each. The Surgical Services GNRP will begin in August 2022. The length of the program will be 10 weeks.

What can you Expect as a GNRP Staff Nurse? 

The Staff Nurse provides highly competent patient care and treatment while demonstrating empathy and a passion for learning. What Does Placement Look Like Post-GNRP?  

Upon completion of the Graduate Nurse Rotational Program, placements are determined by participant preference, Hiring Manager preference, and business need through a collaborative matching process at UPMC Magee.

Applicants will be placed in the appropriate job title and salary from the My Nursing Career Ladder based on their individual experience and education.

Shift/Hours: Our RNs work a rotating 12 hour shifts to ensure 24/7 coverage on the floor. 

Graduate Nurses are encouraged to apply. GNs must be eligible for State Board Licensure and successfully pass the examination before beginning this role.

Qualifications

  • BSN preferred.
  • Completion of UPMC Student Nurse Internship Program or student clinical transitions course at UPMC preferred

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Current Pennsylvania licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse required prior to program start date.
  • Basic Life Support/CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire 
  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance
  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance 
  • Act 73 Federal Criminal Clearance
