Description

Purpose:
Under the general direction of the staff associate of Support Services, manages the daily operation of the Parking department including transportation, garages, cashiers, secretarial support, and the leasing coordinator. Acts as an assistant to the Staff Associate.

Responsibilities:

  • Documents and evaluates transportation project needs and costs. Works with Parking and Transportation Manager to develop the program budget. Conducts analysis of program costs and resources needed to implement new programs.
  • Develops and implements surveys or control studies to evaluate proposed and current TDM program components. Gathers, compiles, and, analyzes data to identify a variety of commuting and long-term planning options. Conducts program analysis to evaluate the attractiveness and effectiveness of TDM programs. Performs feasibility studies by modeling and forecasting a variety of transportation alternatives and issues.
  • Develops, implements, and oversees TDM programs that increase the use of alternative transportation methods. Assists in communicating objectives, proposes policy changes, and, develops plans and programs that minimize traffic flow and parking demand in and around the campuses.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
  • Manage vendors/contractors performing all maintenance in all applicable facilities including but not limited to, janitorial, valet services, parking equipment, security.
  • Participate in departmental strategic planning and development to establish effective short and long-range goals for parking operations and devise methods to improve the overall effectiveness of parking services and programs.
  • Work closely with Parking Department Senior Leadership to determine budgetary requirements, make projections and develop annual operating and capital budgets.
  • Establish and maintain standards for all services with benchmarking against peer institutions. Prepare reports and analysis of findings and revenue projections based on collected count, utilization, transaction, and revenue data.
  • Plan, conduct, and evaluate parking counts, utilization, transaction, and revenue data through regular audits of parking facilities and parking revenue collection.
  • Coordination, installation, and maintenance of traffic, directional, and informational signs in parking and valet areas.
  • Oversee management of customer parking needs from construction-related events and other causes for parking disruption and or displacement of parking.
  • Routinely conduct audits to evaluate services, prepare reports and analyze findings related to process flow, timeliness, equipment errors, revenue assurance, and overall quality of service.
  • Ensure the proper cleanliness, safety, and security of all parking facilities for customers and employees by routinely rounding and reviewing maintenance checklists related to parking operations.
  • Utilize systems designed to document and track resolution of all customer complaints and maintenance service calls received via phone, voicemail.
  • Establish and manage proper inventory control of parking equipment and supplies in tandem with facility operating budgets.
  • Develop and execute a preventative maintenance program to manage parking facility (garages and surface lots) repairs; conduct regular field audits to evaluate functionality, through testing, of parking equipment.
  • Manage and monitor parking systems on a daily basis ensuring the proper maintenance of equipment and all related software.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with course work in Business Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, Human Resources or related field. 
  • Five years of increasingly responsible experience in administrative, fiscal, and personnel, including three years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Must possess exceptional performance management skills.
