Manager, Facilities - UPMC McKeesport

Description

UPMC McKeesport is currently recruiting for a Facilities, Manager to work Monday thru Friday, daylight shift.

Purpose:
Provides direction to obtain hospital goals and objectives in an efficient and less disruptive manner as possible. Administers and directs program to maintain buildings, grounds, equipment, procures or generates all utilities and their distribution systems and preventive maintenance program.

Responsibilities:

  • Share pertinent information with co-workers.
  • Wear all applicable and provided safety equipment when required.
  • Attend meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Schedule and manage overtime as required.
  • Ensure compliance with all JCAHO, federal, state and local codes and regulations.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maintenance manuals, and parts manuals as required.
  • Develop, implement and evaluate a comprehensive, preventive maintenance program utilizing state-of-the-art computer programming for record work order generation, record keeping and status reports to insure maximum operating efficiency of plant equipment.
  • Conduct and/or coordinate training classes, evaluate and critique those classes and observe worker compliance for competency. Conduct department safety meetings and documents those meetings.
  • Demonstrate professionalism in relations with staff, public, patients, and managers at all times.
  • Operate department within budget.
  • Complete performance evaluations as required; ensure criteria and job descriptions are current and accurate.
  • Work with management in developing and maintaining budgets.
  • Perform other duties as required by the Director and other management personnel.
  • Continually monitor email and bulletin boards for pertinent department or hospital information.
  • Complete annual education requirements in a timely fashion.
  • Comply with established UPMC and department policies and procedures including but not limited to continuous quality improvement, HIPAA, Code of Conduct safety, environmental and infection control, PaDOH and JCAHO.
  • Report to work as scheduled; call off as per department guidelines.
  • Comply with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices.
  • Communicate mission, ethics, and goals of facility and system.
  • Assist Director of Facilities to ensure efficient and effective operation of the maintenance department.
  • Develop departmental policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to dress code with neat and clean appearance.
  • Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner.
  • Wear identification while on duty.
  • Administer and direct program to procure and/or generate all utilities and their distribution systems.
  • Order supplies, parts, and equipment as required.
  • Respond to internal and external disaster drills as indicated by the various plans.
  • Comply with hospital and department attendance guidelines.
  • Responsible for and/or assists Director in construction management activities within the hospital.
  • PA Drivers License
  • Master Plumber, Medical Gas, Back Flow Device, and Stationery Engineers License

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree and 3 or more years experience
  • OR High School and 5 or more years of experience in a supervisory, assistant department head, or department head level in engineering related field.
  • Working knowledge in one or more of the following trades: electrical, steam, plumbing or HVAC..


Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Stationary Engineer License Preferred.
  • Driver's License
  • Act 34
  • OAPSA
