Our UPMC Center for Engagement & Inclusion (CFEI) is searching for a Diversity & Workforce Development Specialist to join the team!  This is a great chance to join a collaborative team that drives all diversity work throughout UPMC.

The Diversity & Workforce Development Specialist provides a blend of recruitment skills and event planning expertise for the CFEI department. This position will involve hosting and attending recruitment events, developing relationships with talent and partners, and ensuring diversity is infused into the Workforce Development programs. This position will work with community partners, manage talent pipelines, and coordinate targeted training programs.

The Diversity & Workforce Development Specialist is a regular, full-time position that primarily works daylight hours, Monday through Friday, in a hybrid work setup.  The ideal candidate is energetic, ambitious, and comfortable with public speaking.  If this sounds like your next career move, apply online today!


  • Compare workforce development participant/candidate qualifications with documented, objective criteria consistent with the job description to refer to Talent Acquisition.
  • Conduct employment screening interviews for community based internships
  • Coordinate, host, and/or attend recruitment/workforce development events
  • Facilitate the job posting system. Confirm workforce development program requirements to assure correct requirements are posted.
  • Facilitate workforce development training programs
  • Comply, analyze and prepare reports on the computer and work on special projects as requested.
  • Provide feedback and coaching to workforce development participants/candidates and community partners.



  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or related field and one year of employment interviewing or related human resources experience required.
    • OR High School Diploma/GED and three years of employment interviewing or related human resources experience required.
  • Experience with training/program facilitation preferred.
  • Experience with community organizations preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
