Description

Purpose:
To perform ECGs, Signal Average ECGs (SAECG) and Holter Monitoring. Edits, retrieves and transmits ECGs using the MUSE computer system. Provides ECG training for hospital personnel, local technical school students and Gannon Respiratory Care students. This position will work 10 hour shifts on weekdays 6 AM to 4:30 PM. It will also work rotating weekends and holidays. 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Performs ECGs on neonates, pediatrics and adults. Possesses the ability to obtain and interpret information considering age specific needs. Performs SAECGs. Edits ECG reports accurately to reflect physician interpretation using the MUSE computer system. Collates and retrieves ECGs for all areas of the Medical Center. Routinely provides ECG inservice education and training to nursing, respiratory care staff and students. Performs routine maintenance on ECG, Holter and MUSE equipment. Troubleshoots minor problems with equipment. Contacts Marquette Technical Support for additional troubleshooting with the MUSE computer system. Demonstrates Hamot's commitment to Service Excellence by understanding the needs of patients, their families, physicians and co-workers and doing what is required the first time, every time by being responsible, sensitive, accurate, timely, coordinated and thorough.

 

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Two years of patient care experience with prior computer experience preferred.


Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Must be certified in BCLS or become certified within six months

CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
 

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
