Description

UPMC is actively hiring an Intermediate Media Specialist to join their executive support team. This is a standard Monday-Friday daylight schedule located at Steel Tower in Pittsburgh, PA. Hours may vary based on executive schedules.
 
The main responsibilities of this role involve the coordination of staff and implementation of audiovisual and video teleconferencing equipment and computer support for presentations. The Media Specialist supports all technical and production operations for these systems in cooperation with fellow staff of Media Services assist in the production of broadcast-quality presentations on video, DVD and web to enhance the UPMC's mission of patient care, education, and research.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a working knowledge of computer technology, network systems, and standard software and acts as a resource of technical information to the UPMC end user community. Attend training, as assignedUse a PC computer to develop and maintain production schedules. Complete projects within specified budget and maintain accurate records for billing purposes.Maintain UPMC Brand Standards on all appropriate materials; provide consultation to various UPMC staff, clients, and vendors regarding implementation of these standards; adherence to the rules of copyright, compliance and confidentiality.
  • Provide service to ISD client community, patients, families and visitors, while protecting the integrity and confidentiality of all data and information through physical and electronic measures.
  • Assist Technician Specialist with repair and installations.Interface with ISD executive support services to provide assistance on computer related presentation problem solving and support for projection or display.Provide front line support for Video Teleconferencing services in installed facilities.
  • Problem Resolution - Advises IT users on how to resolve technology problems. Solutions frequently require independent judgment to apply IT professional knowledge, concepts, & principles. Independent judgment to make appropriate application of professional concepts, principles, and knowledge. Creative use of the problem resolution system. Using multiple and diverse professional resources and references.
  • Schedule daily audiovisual equipment and staff, review room scheduling to anticipate needsHandle equipment emergencies quickly and effectively, with minimal interruption to the event.Perform basic preventive maintenance on all portable and installed presentation equipment.
  • Adherence to the rules of copyright and confidentiality.Mastery of the essential IT principles and analytical rules that guide their application in practical situations
  • Transport, setup, test and operate audiovisual equipment at various locations in the US Steel towerUtilize a variety of equipment in video and CD/DVD format duplication equipment to produce high quality copies for distribution to internal and external audiences.Operate record with and troubleshoot broadcast quality video production equipment, including video cameras, component and composite recorders, audio mixers and recorders, and desktop video editing equipment.

 

Qualifications

  • High School and 5 years experience in television and video equipment repair and video, audio facilities design, OR, Associate's in Electronics or Electrical Engineering and 3 years experience in television and video equipment repair and video, audio facilities design.
  • Must have knowledge of all phases of RF distribution, and satellite technology, with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must have full vision capability and have the ability to drive a car. Also must be able to lift 100 pounds.
