UPMC Corporate Quality is searching for a Systems Analyst Senior to join the team!  This is a regular, full-time position that works standard business hours, Monday through Friday, in a hybrid work model.

In this role, the Systems Analyst Senior is responsible for delivering analytical services, defining requirements, developing and designing build and presenting analytic solutions to multidisciplinary teams including but not limited to physicians, administrators, and organizational leaders.  They summarize outcomes to support data-based decision making throughout the organization to improve elements such as patient care, clinical outcomes, and operational throughput.

Various clinical and administrative systems will be used as the data sources, including but not limited to Epic, Cerner and Medipac. Final aggregation and presentation will be completed through various software packages, including SQL Developer, Qlik, Power BI, and Cognos. The ideal candidate is an experienced analyst who can work both independently as well as in a team setting.

  • Responsible for defining and framing quality analytic measures.
  • Must be able to independently build complex queries using SQL and create data models using SQL.
  • Utilize Business Intelligence tools (Power BI and Qlikview) to develop reports, dashboards, and apps that will display the data.
  • May be required to present analytic solutions to multidisciplinary teams including but not limited to physicians, administrators, and organizational leaders.
  • Will be responsible for troubleshooting reports and dashboards in Qlikview, Cognos, and Power BI.
  • Must ensure reporting logic is accurate and sound by comparing analytical output to data within the source systems, as well as through cross validation to base reports.
  • Ensure compliance and regulatory guidelines are met.
  • Creates and/or manage cutover plans including downtime, etc. 
  • May be responsible for coordination of tasks and resources related to system integration, validation of testing and implementation.
  • The Systems Analyst Senior Quality is responsible for demonstrating appropriate, clear, concise, and effective written and oral communications in all interactions to build relationships and accomplish day today work and projects.



  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Systems, Healthcare Management or related field and three years of total related experience
    • OR High School Diploma and five years of relevant work experience.
  • MS Office proficiency required
  • Oracle SQL Developer or Microsoft SQL Server experience required
  • Power BI development knowledge preferred 
  • Qlikview development knowledge preferred 
  • Cognos development knowledge preferred 
  • SSIS or ETL experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Epic, Medipac, and Cerner is preferred
  • Healthcare experience preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills required
  • Must work well independently and within a team
  • Completes on-going training on-the-job, through courses, self-study, certifications, and/or advanced degrees to maintain and enhance technical and business capabilities.
