Description

Purpose:
University of Pittsburgh Ophthalmology Division is hiring Ophthalmic Imaging/Photography Technician for our UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh location in Lawrenceville, PA. If you want to be part of the Life Changing Medicine team for one of the top ten children's hospital in the nation, this is the team for you.  You will perform variety of testing in the Pediatric Ophthalmology Imaging Department. We will consider all levels of our career ladder.  The final title and pay will be determined by your experience and certifications.

Responsibilities:

  • You will be the first point of contact for our patients to obtain history, and will place testing orders, code, and perform imaging as needed during EAU. 
  • You will clean, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment.
  • Pupillary assessment: measurement, compare and evaluate.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform: Visual fields, OCT, Lenstar, A-scan/B-scan, OPTOS, corneal Topograpy.  Microperimetry Slit Lamp & Fundus Photography, FA and ICG. 
  • Upload images for rounds, research, and patient chart. EMR charting, fax referral, and patient calls as needed. 
  • Travel to satellite office as needed

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • One year as an Ophthalmic Technician and current COA certificate required


Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • COA certification required 
  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
