Description

University of Pittsburgh Physicians is currently hiring a Temporary Medical Office Professional.

This will be a full-time position, temporary position at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh!

The Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine department provides services to patients and families of children with diagnoses such as cerebral palsy, spina bifida and other chronic conditions,  We additionally see patients with concussion, brain injury and other acquired conditions.  We work to provide medical evaluations and case-management in order to allow our patients to progress and be able to improve functionally.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains waiting room and office supplies.
  • Maintains accurate communication including, but not limited to, promptly answering telephones, activating the paging system, facilitating timely faxing, and distributing patient and unit mail
  • Verifies insurance for accuracy and completeness and gets appropriate forms completed and signed by patients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Verify necessary information and records in the electronic medical record and computerized scheduling system.
  • May room patients and prepare charts/medical records for review
  • Greets and assists visitors, physicians and other staff members
  • Schedule appointments, patient registration and place follow-up calls to physicians and/or patients
  • Maintain confidentiality and follow all HIPAA and departmental guidelines

 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma Strongly Preferred


Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
