Director, Women's Outreach


To work in conjunction with the Senior Leadership team to provide strategic direction and guidance for UPMC Magee-Women's Outreach Services. To develop diverse regional outreach programs in Women's Health for expansion of services and volumes. To consistently expand the scope of services within the service line, assessing new technologies and programs to advance practice and meet new opportunities created by changes in science and healthcare policy. Provide support to enhance access and education of at-risk communities, possess an understanding of population health management.


  • Guides and directs the development of comprehensive UPMC Magee-Women's Outreach Services in accordance with the community needs assessment for the area served.
  • Analyzes and manages strategic development and implementation to increase volumes, manage costs, provide quality patient care exceeding national benchmarks, and optimize revenue opportunities.
  • Develops an annual comprehensive business plan, strategic plan, and marketing plan, including specific goals and outcomes for Women's Outreach Services. Plans, organizes, implements, directs, and evaluates the development of specific departmental objectives and action plans in support of overall corporate goals and objectives. Assures compliance with corporate policy and other standards of performance for assigned areas.
  • Monitors changes in legislation and regulations to assure that effective actions are taken in a timely and consistent manner. Represents UPMC Magee-Women's in local civic activities and in related regional and national affiliation functions. Serves as outreach agent to community agencies and collaborates with community agencies to improve and expand service delivery, access and advocacy.
  • Serves as primary spokesperson to the community and promotes excellent consumer relations with staff, community, and patients regarding UPMC Magee-Women's. Prepares and submits monthly, quarterly, and prepares annual reports.
  • Provides consistent, positive leadership, acting as an informed decision-maker, capitalizing on opportunities, and taking initiative in the furtherance of UPMC Magee-Women's. Works closely with both medical and professional staff associated with the Women's Health Service Line and the hospital to develop positive relationships. Exercises effective leadership in developing and nurturing relationships with Medical Staff members, employees, community organizations and leaders. Serves as the prime motivator to assigned staff members and continually sets an example through responsiveness to employees and Medical Staff needs and the discharge of other corporate responsibilities.
  • Leads the development of effective strategies to build and expand programs fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion through collaboration, growing awareness and support of values within our women's health community and service lines, this includes but not limited to the immigrant and refugee community, LGBTQ community, patients with disabilities and community agencies supporting victims of domestic violence and homelessness.
  • Serves as a liaison between care initiatives and key stakeholders to ensure programmatic success.
  • Builds lasting relationships with organizations within the community and across all demographics building trust and coordinated solutions around women's health.
  • Responsible for Community Health Needs Assessment and development and based on survey results.
  • Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Explores and secures opportunities for grant funding to support community-based programs. Collaborates with the Foundation grant office, women's health service line and other entities to secure funding sources.



  • Master's degree, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in a healthcare-related management position.
  • Experience in women's health, patient experience and outreach.
  • Demonstrated competency in, but not limited to the following skills: Strong managerial skills, project management, ability to lead multi-disciplinary process teams, finance/budgeting, physician and staff collaboration
  • Strong communication skills, coordination of multiple services and projects, problem-solving/critical thinking, statistical/analytical, process analysis, hospitality/public relations, team
  • Oral and written communication skills necessary to effectively communicate goals and objectives, deliver board and management presentations and compose reports.
