Description

The Clinical Marketing Communication Specialist II based in Cumberland, Maryland, will develop and implement marketing and advertising strategies for external audiences in support of UPMC Health System's mission.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the development and production of marketing communications projects for UPMC programs, including advertising, print collateral, videos, and digital content.
  • Independently plan, research, and write copy that is creative, well organized, concise, and stylistically appropriate to the audience and purpose, while following department style rules.
  • Assist Clinical Marketing Directors/Managers/Communications Specialists in the planning, development, launch, and evaluation of promotional and marketing programs to increase patient volume and support UPMC’s business objectives.
  • Coordinate the work of contributing marketing staff and freelancers including editing and proofreading their copy. Take responsibility for approvals and accuracy of information communicated.
  • Demonstrate service-oriented behavior in interactions with clients and co-workers.
  • Manage multiple projects of increased complexity, sensitivity, or importance to the organization, or edit major publication.
  • Must adhere and implement brand standards across all marketing projects.
  • Serve as marketing liaison to hospital management staff and medical staff of clinical and nonclinical programs, providing consultation and strategic communications planning where appropriate.
  • Provide marketing support to UPMC departments as needed.
  • Monitor budget and manage distribution and delivery of projects. Complete projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, communications, health sciences, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a marketing communications position or related field.
  • Must have knowledge of traditional and digital marketing best practices, excellent communication, multitasking, organizational, research/interviewing, writing, grammar, and interpersonal skills.
