Description
Purpose:
Maintain walls, ceilings, and floors throughout the Hospital in good repair. Plaster, spackle and tape new walls. Install new floors and ceilings. Provide proper protective finish on walls, trim, equipment, casework in order to preserve them properly and maintain an attractive appearance.
Responsibilities:
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Technical Services or his designee as conditions require.
- Work on general maintenance assignments and other duties when workload requires, or assigned by the Team Leader or Director of Technical Services.
- Work weekends and/or nights when work schedule requires it.
- Participates in Fire Brigade.
- Assists in installation on new door bucks in masonry walls.
- Perform inspections and repairs on fire and smoke walls.
- Work on many weather related issues that occur.
- Requisition equipment, replacement parts, supplies and materials for day-to-day operations and scheduled projects. Work with vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials. Maintain adequate stock of often used supplies and materials.
- Perform work safely without endangering yourself or others. Remain proficient in the safe and accurate use of equipment and materials used. Comply with Safety Manual and all Safety Policies and Procedures and ensure that your subordinates adhere to safe work practices.
- Installs concrete pads and repairs concrete already in place. Installs carpet, molding, and carpet tile. Measures and install vinyl wall covering. Paint walls, ceilings, and trim. Refinish doors, furniture, and equipment. Prepare surfaces to be painted. Protect floors and adjacent areas. Set up ladders and scaffolds. Mix paint and match colors. Apply primer and finish coats. Cleanup work areas.
- Cuts, removes, installs ceramic tile in walls and floors, Installs new ceramic tile for floors and walls.
- Demolishes plaster or brick walls to provide for alterations or new renovations.
- Cuts out old flooring, patches vinyl tile flooring, and installs new flooring.
- Tapes and finishes drywall to provide for alterations on renovations.
- Inspects patient and non-patient areas to determine where walls ceilings have deteriorated and need patching or replacement. Remove defective plaster and lathing, install brown and finish coat plaster.
Qualifications
- High School or Vo-Tech trainingGood mechanical aptitude.
- Four years experience in the trade.
- Minimum of two years of professional painting.
- Use of sprayers, various types of brushes, rollers and applicators.
- Must have Valid PA Driver's License in good standing and eligible to be covered under the organizations auto liability policy.
- Computer skills preferred.Operation of tractors, forklifts, bucket trucks, snow equipment, high lift, and other types of equipment preferred.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Clearances must be dated within 90 days
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
