Description
Purpose:
Performs general clerical duties including answering telephones, scheduling patients, processing films and functions required for patient film release and return.
Responsibilities:
- Print images or prepare CDs being sent with a patient to other physicians and hospitals.
- Promote the hospital's image and maintains a positive and helpful attitude toward employees, physicians, visitors, and the community to enhance the hospital's reputation as a healthcare center.
- Employ cost conscience techniques involved in the usage of radiographic film, jackets, and other associated supplies
- Maintain confidentiality of hospital and department information with no infractions.
- Complete this process in reverse when films are returned.
- Maintain professional, pleasant and effective communications both internally and externally.
- Present self in a positive manner reflected by personal attire and etiquette.
- Establish and maintain good rapport and cooperative relationship with medical staff, co-workers, supervisors and others.
- Exhibit integrity, courtesy, and respect for others.
- Documents images being released to complete process when films are returned.
- Receive patients, types correspondence, answers telephones, prepares patients and jackets, and orders procedures.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or GED.
- Courses in typing and office procedures preferred.
- One(1) to two (2) years experience preferred.
- Must possess good oral and written skills, must be able to communicate with hospital contacts both on the telephone and directly, and effectively communicate with all age groups, populations, and individuals within the hospital. Must become familiar with the hospital computer system.
- May in the course of their duties be in rooms where medications are stored or may transport medications when they transport patients.
- Transportation of medication is limited from one department to another.
