UPMC is looking for an Investment Analyst to support the investment activities of the Treasury Department and will report to the Vice President, Investments.  Currently UPMC’s investment portfolios are comprised of globally diversified investments with leading investment firms across private equity, hedge fund and other alternative and traditional strategies.  The Investment Analyst will have the opportunity to work in a challenging, intellectually stimulating environment and will be expected to support multiple investment sub-asset classes.

This position will work at the US Steel Tower, Monday through Friday during daylight business hours.  The position will manage a globally diversified portfolio as a result, the candidate may need to work across different time zones as needed.   In addition, this position will have global travel if/when appropriate.

  • Participate in due diligence process on existing and potential investment relationships, including conference calls and face-to-face meetings with existing and potential investment managers.
  • Assist with the auditing and SOX process.
  • Working with existing software, develop and maintain reports that track manager positions and exposures in alternative asset classes.
  • Assist in analytical projects to determine and monitor risk within specific asset classes and amongst asset classes in terms of the total portfolio.
  • Support activities of Traditional and Alternative Investments
  • Assist in maintaining all documentation involved with investments-tax filings, coordinating review of legal documents, coordinating capital calls and distributions, and the maintenance of all relevant file materials.
  • Assist in the preparation and dissemination of information related to investments to the Investment Committee and Senior Management of UPMC.



  • B.A. degree in Finance or related business field is required.
  • Microsoft Office with emphasis on spreadsheet application proficiency preferred.
  • One to three years of experience with institutional investment management and/or progress towards a CFA charter preferred.
