Cole Place, in Coudersport, PA, is currently seeking an Activities Associate / Lead to join our team! This is a full time position that will work primarily days, with one evening per week and one weekend per month.
This position provides a comprehensive activity program to residents of the Skilled Nursing Unit. It is responsible for the planning, implementation and guidance of activity programs and department operations
Responsibilities:
- Know and follow all organizational/departmental policies/procedures
- Completes monthly activities calendar and ensures distribution of calendar
- Assume responsibility for personal development and education
- Prepares monthly activities staff schedules, monitors overtime, approves PTO and ensures staff works within budgeted FTE
- Completes required MDS assessments
- Incorporate leading/evidence-based practice in quality/safety into every day work. Commit to high quality, safe work; encourage others to have similar standards. Identify processes/systems that could lead to inefficient practices, unsafe conditions, errors or adverse events. Avoid shortcuts to ensure quality and safety measures are not circumvented. Encourage patient and family involvement in processes involvingpatient safety. Speak up with other service partners to ensure high quality and safety. Report serious events/incidents per policy
- Monitors resident satisfaction with activities program and implements changes as needed
- Actively practice behaviors associated with SH Service Excellence expectations. Smile at and greet everyone enthusiastically, treat everyone with respect, dignity and C.A.R.E. Be an ambassador for UPMC Susquehanna. Provide the best C.A.R.E. for our patients no matter what.
- Monitors activities program quality and provides pertinent data to QI/PI as directed.
- Assists in the orientation and training of new staff and volunteers
- Assists in completion of annual evaluation for activity staff
- Develops, markets, evaluates and oversees the activity and therapeutic recreation programs of the Skilled Nursing Unit with support from Manager/Assistant NHA
Qualifications
- Associates degree required, Healthcare studies preferred.
- 1 year of experience required.
- Experience with Microsoft Office preferred.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
- NCCAP - National Council for Certification of Activity Professional or equivalent preferred.
- Pennsylvania Therapeutic Recreation Society Preferred.
