Description

 

Somerset Health Services is hiring a Full-Time Office Supervisor to support Somerset Family Practice in Somerset, PA!

The shift of this position is primarily daylight Monday through Friday.

 

Purpose:
Provides and coordinates all clerical and management support services necessary to maintain smooth operations for the Department.

Responsibilities:

  • Attend monthly Department and Management Staff meetings; Fire and Safety seminar and other mandatory in-services; comply with Hospital policies and procedures, safety and infection-control programs and relevant personnel policies; always maintain patient and employee confidentiality.
  • Interact with and coordinate with various other departments to develop policies and procedures to enhance smooth operations; provide assistance to patients, physicians, co-workers and superiors; help to locate films and/or reports, take corrective actions; handle any difficult situations and problem-solving.
  • Interview, recommend for hire and evaluate clerical staff; recommend disciplinary actions and/or terminations as required; provides necessary paperwork and supporting documentation.
  • Inventory and order all office supplies; make decisions pertaining to the replacement or addition of new equipment; responsible for scheduling of repairs and maintenance as required.
  • Maintain updated computerized schedules and time cards; evaluate and investigate all pay-related issues; record all personal data and schedules mandatory hospital in-services (i.e.: fire and safety); process various personnel-related forms as necessary.
  • Provide Administrative on-call assistance on a rotational basis as needed.
  • Provide any necessary support and decision-making to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Pursue continuing education to gain job knowledge; include interaction with UPMC counterparts to improve management skills to provide increased overall efficiency.
  • Train all new employees; develop, organize and implement any new duties required due to changes in Hospital and/or department operations and policies.
  • Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Computer applications required to perform essential job functions.
  • Medical terminology helpful.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Oral and written communication skills required.


Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Associate Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Act 34
