Director Marketing & Business Development


The Director of Marketing & Business Development is responsible for the overall growth of CRS through the creation of a corporate image. This image is then promoted through all avenues of sales, marketing and advertising.


  • Provide marketing direction and support to all Facility Directors through department staff and individual consultation and management.
  • Perform job responsibilities in a manner that coincides with the goals and objectives of Centers for Rehab Services.
  • Develop, create, design and enhance all sales and advertising tools.
  • Achieve and maintain a level of productivity which meets or exceeds the standards established for the facility by the organization.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and provide excellent customer service characterized by caring, concern and support for the public, supervisors, employees and coworkers.
  • Maintain current status of all pertinent criteria necessary to satisfy competency requirements for regulatory and accrediting agencies such as OSHA and TJC, including but not limited to: current professional license (if applicable); current curriculum vitae; current CPR certification; current TB test; current competencies in safety, age, corporate compliance, HIPAA and equipment; and in some cases current automobile license and current automobile insurance.
  • Perform all job responsibilities and other duties as assigned by the facility or the organization in a manner that coincides with the mission of Centers for Rehab Services.
  • Develop and monitor marketing, sales and advertising strategies.
  • Develop and maintain effective communications and working relationships with all internal customers ( Marketing Representatives, Marketing Assistant, CRS Therapists, Corporate Management Team) and external customers (healthcare team members, physicians, nurse case managers, office managers, patients/family members).
  • Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, departmental committees and in-service education programs.
  • Perform cold calls and establish referral development meetings with all referral sources.
  • Serve as an advocate internally for the development of strategic responsiveness for CRS and also for the restructuring of day-to-day operations as needed to respond to marketplace.
  • Provide feedback to Corporate Management Team.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Adhere to the dress code policy of the employee handbook so as to present professionally when representing CRS.
  • Continually evaluate and make contact with new referral sources.
  • Participate in community education and/or continuing education programs sponsored by the organization as requested.
  • Provide supervision to department staff.
  • Adhere to organizational policies and procedures of Centers for Rehab Services, including the Corporate Compliance Program and its Code of Conduct. This includes acceptance of the responsibility to report to the appropriate person(s) any suspected unethical, incompetent, or illegal activities or conduct.
  • Engage oneself and the organization in professional organizations and functions which benefit referral and development.



  • MHA, MBA or equivalent Master's Degree with a minimum of one year experience, OR
  • Bachelor's Degree and three years experience, OR
  • Ten years of experience in marketing, product development, management, and sales experience.
  • Healthcare Experience Required.
  • Healthcare Marketing and Business Development experience in the following areas Preferred: inpatient rehab (IRF), skilled nursing facility (SNF), long term acute care (LTACH) or physician practice.
  • Active participation with health care industry professional organizations is preferred.
  • Must possess knowledge and skills in employee training and development, customer service, cost-containment, the ability to think and plan ahead and organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Must be highly skilled with experience in product development, growth, marketing, sales and advertising.
  • Must possess the ability to identify referral growth opportunities.
  • Must complete CRS Orientation, Facility-specific Orientation, and Department Specific Orientation's) where appropriate.
  • Must complete all mandatory competencies for system, CRS business unit and/or facility.
  • Must possess knowledge of marketing/clinical organizations relative to establish, maintain and grow referral sources.
  • Must possess knowledge of valid business reason (VBR) concept and ability to apply this concept in the workplace.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with healthcare team, coworkers, supervisors, and all members of the Corporate Management Team.
  • Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be skilled in planning/organization, follow up/control, delegation, problem-solving, self-development orientation, organizational behaviors/competencies, and stress tolerance.
  • Must be able to read, understand, analyze, and interpret medical record documents.
  • Must possess the ability to apply principles of logic and strategic thinking to a wide range of problems, and to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to respond appropriately to telephone inquiries. Incumbent must be courteous and demonstrate appropriate behavior towards patients, staff
