Statistician (Dementia Epidemiology Program)

Description

The Dementia Epidemiology Program, Dept. of Psychiatry. www.dementia-epidemiology.pitt.edu. is hiring a Statistician to join their team. This team conducts large population-based studies of older adults, and perform statistical analyses of epidemiology datasets and disseminate the results through scientific publications and presentations. The Statistcian will perform statistical analyses of epidemiologic data, working with investigators and other team members, reporting to the PI and the Lead Statistician. 

This postiion is grant funded. 

Purpose:
Provide statistical support to a large epidemiology research project.


Responsibilities:

  • Design and carry out statistical analysis
  • Collaborate closely with inside investigators and other team members as needed to complete publications etc.
  • Document analyses and constructs used in analysis.
  • Participate in the preparation of manuscripts and research reports and presentations from data generated by these studies.
  • Write new programs for data analysis and conduct new data analysis as needed.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Biostatistics or Epidemiology is required.  
  • One year of relevant experience with statistical analyses and packages (e.g. SAS, SPSS, R) and Microsoft Office components (e.g. EXCEL, Word, PowerPoint) preferably in research setting.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Act 34
