Description
Are you interested in working at Magnet designated UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital? Only 7% of hospitals nationwide have achieved Magnet designation… and we’re one of them! For more than a century, UPMC Magee has been caring for women through all stages of their lives, and we are looking for the next talented employee to join our team.
We are currently hiring a full time Professional Staff Nurse to support the Transitional Care Unit (TCU) at our Oakland location. The 20-bed Transitional Care Unit serves primarily short-stay recuperative and rehabilitation patients—a majority are geriatric and/or stable post-op orthopedic and oncology patients. The TCU is a family- and patient-focused environment where collaboration and communication are paramount, and you should be comfortable working with wound vacs, hoyer lifts, and standard IV therapy. You will partner with the patient and his or her family, along with a diverse roster of therapists and counselors to help the patient return home with as much independence as possible. The TCU features a wide array of recreational activities, 24-hour visitation for family and friends, and an onsite PT/OT gym. OAPSA clearance is required. We are a small unit with close-knit employees. Our unit offers a great team-based environment and flexible scheduling! Our RNs work a rotating schedule to ensure 24/7 coverage on the floor. This position will work three 12-hour shifts rotating days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
