Description

The Broker Operations Specialist will be responsible for assisting the efforts of the Producer Relations departments in supporting the Broker Community in all market sizes. The incumbent will be responsible for assisting with gathering, preparing, and analyzing data from various sources for or on behalf of broker relations reps and Business Development Specialist. The Broker Operation Specialist responsibilities also include oversight of the broker commission process, appointments, book of business reviews, direct mail campaigns, broker scorecards, license & insurance reviews, and assistance with system access. Responsibilities also include responding to telephone/email inquiries, creating and analyzing various broker reports, and maintaining broker demographic information.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Producer Relations with supporting external brokers and their staff
  • Assist brokers with all aspects of plan administration (broker supplies, locating appropriate Account Manager, system access)
  • Document daily activities in the computer system
  • Support internal teams with direct mail campaigns
  • Monitor broker activity on the broker portal
  • Assist with monthly broker audit and tracking of Broker Commission
  • Monitor broker productivity monthly
  • Oversee effective administration of agency business processes (Broker of Record, Authorization of Record, etc)
  • Support Producer Relations and external broker agency team regarding operational issues
  • Monitor Broker/Sales Hotlines, and Broker/Sales email box
  • Assist Broker Relations Reps and Business Development Specialist with generation and distribution of broker contracts and/or required paperwork
  • Monitor broker appointments from contract development to commission payment

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent industry experience
  • Managed Care experience preferred
  • Proficiency in IKA and Microsoft Office Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain credibility in the marketplace and interdepartmental relationships
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Prior experience in Broker Agency or Sales environment preferred
  • Project management experience
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently


Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
PA Health and Accident License required within 90 days of hire.
