Description
This LPN role works collaboratively with a team to provide professional nursing care to office pediatric patients across a range of specialties, under the supervision of patient care providers.
Responsibilities of the LPN:
- Takes on a variety of clinical care tasks to assist specialists including allergy testing, POC labs, and pulmonary function testing
- Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).
- Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments.
- Assess patient's general condition and take vital signs and weight.
- Triage patient concerns and clinical questions, working in close collaboration with team to answer them as efficiently as possible
- Comply with all policies and procedures.
- Assist in submitting prior authorization for specialty medications and procedures
- Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.
- Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.
- Communicate extensively with patients around physician advice/instructions, status of medications/procedures, patient questions/concerns
The Licensed Practicel Nurse takes on other tasks as permitted by training and experience to provide excellent patient care
Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing.
- One year clinical experience preferred.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) OR Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
