Research Specialist | Regulation of Emotion in ASD Adults Children and Teens (REAACT) Lab

Description

The Regulation of Emotion in ASD Adults Children and Teens (REAACT) Lab (www.reaact.pitt.edu) in the Center of Excellence for Autism Research (CeFAR) is seeking a full-time research assistant. The position will support multiple studies, including studies involving development of new measures for individuals with autism across the lifespan. The person in this position will conduct clinical interviews and assessments with participants with ASD and their parents. This position will provide training and exposure to a wide range of research activities in a federally funded autism research program. This regular full-time position will maintain a schedule of 40 hours per week. Please visit our website for more information about ongoing studies. The Research Specialist will be asked to consent participants, run fMRIs tests, and conduct structured and semi-structured interviews and tests with adults with autism and individuals with developmental disorders and their parents. 

This position is grant funded.

Responsibilities:

  • Independently execute job functions for research protocol(s) including recruitment, scheduling appointments, obtaining written consent forms, collecting data by conducting phone or face to face interviews for research project(s).
  • Collaborate with senior research personnel regarding recruitment, data collection, outcomes of interviews, reports according to the needs of the study.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Psychology, Neuroscience, Sociology or related research field.
  • Minimum of one year of work experience in a research project and/or related clinical setting is required.
  • Familiarity with computers and common software packages required.
  • Experience with autism preferred.
  • Working knowledge of research methodology strongly preferred.


Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCMC)
  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
